Salary: £31,838 - £32,930

Job Details

Jess Asato MP is looking for a dedicated and hard-working Senior Caseworker to help support her in her local work.

 

The Senior Caseworker is responsible for providing advice and support to constituents on a range of issues and helping to resolve them by communicating with local authorities, government agencies, the voluntary sector, and other organisations.

 

The successful candidate will be able to work with a high degree of autonomy and will be motivated by a strong desire to help other people.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Engage professionally and confidentially with members of the public.

  • Ensure all cases are logged, progress is monitored, and identified actions are taken.

  • Ensure accurate records are kept and information is managed confidentially in line with data protection legislation.

  • Assist with organising surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.

  • Work collaboratively across the team to raise important issues and patterns of enquiries internally.

 

Required skills, experience, and qualities

  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be comfortable dealing with the public and managing expectations.

  • The ability to conduct independent research in order to resolve or progress cases.

  • The ability to work with tact and discretion.

  • The ability to prioritise tasks effectively, and to work well and keep calm under pressure and to tight deadlines.
