Surgeries

MP SURGERIES

Meeting residents and hearing directly about local issues is one of the most important parts of my role as your MP. I hold regular surgeries across the constituency to discuss concerns, support constituents with casework, and help residents raise issues affecting them, their families, or their community.

Appointments may take place in person, over the phone, or online depending on the nature of the issue and availability.

requesting a surgery appointment

To request a surgery appointment, please contact my office with:

  • Your full name

  • Address and postcode

  • Contact details

  • A brief summary of the issue

  • Any relevant reference or casework numbers from previous correspondence

Members of Parliament are only able to assist residents living within their own constituency. If you are unsure whether I am your MP, you can check here:

how my office can help

As your MP, I may be able to assist with issues involving government departments, public bodies, and local services. This can include:

  • Housing

  • Benefits and pensions

  • NHS and healthcare concerns

  • Immigration and visa cases

  • Education

  • Transport and infrastructure issues

  • Consumer and utility problems

  • Concerns involving councils or public agencies

My office can also support residents in raising unresolved issues with relevant organisations and help signpost people towards appropriate services and support where needed.

what mps cannot do

There are some matters MPs are unable to intervene in directly. This can include:

  • Ongoing legal proceedings or court decisions

  • Private disputes between individuals

  • The planning process

  • Employment disputes where formal procedures have not been followed

  • Matters outside the constituency

  • Decisions made independently by the courts

  • Requests to overturn legal or regulatory decisions

  • Complaints where the appropriate formal process has not yet been completed

While my office may not always be able to resolve every issue directly, we will always aim to provide guidance or signpost residents towards the most appropriate organisation or source of support where possible.
