Hosting a Parliamentary Event on Better Bus Stops and Passenger Information

Yesterday, I hosted an event in Parliament with the Campaign for Better Transport on the need for better information and signage at bus stops.

Many of you have raised the lack of bus shelters, poor signage at bus stops and lack of accessibility, and it's clear more needs to be done.

Too many bus stops in our area are just a sign on a pole when what we need is reliable information telling us how far away the next bus will be and where it goes in order to better allow visitors or those without smartphones to plan their journeys.

That is why I’m supporting the CBT's campaign for better bus stops and will be writing to Suffolk County Council to ask them to undertake an audit ahead of the new guidance the Government will be producing later this year for local authorities.
