Calling for a Best Start Family Hub in Lowestoft

I have written again to Suffolk County Council today to ask that they strongly consider Lowestoft as a location for a new Best Start Family Hub.

The Government is funding councils to roll-out our Best Start in Life programme across the country and given a third of children in Lowestoft grow up in poverty, I want to see parents and kids in our area receive the support they need.

Best Start Family Hubs build on the previous Labour Government’s successful Sure Start programme and provide a one-stop-shop for parents to access a wide variety of services, including support for housing, mental health, SEND, and substance misuse, as well as activities for 0-5 year olds and youth services.
