Visiting Scottish Power’s East Anglia ONE
It was great to recently visit the Scottish Power East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm operations team and see first-hand the progress being made at one of the UK’s flagship renewable energy projects.
It was encouraging to hear about the latest developments and meet the team helping to power hundreds of thousands of homes while putting Lowestoft and Suffolk at the heart of Britain’s clean energy future.
Offshore wind is creating fantastic opportunities right here in Lowestoft, with skilled jobs, investment, and long-term growth for our local economy. It’s particularly welcome to see that continuing, with RES set to recruit a team of 25 people from in and around Lowestoft and Ipswich after being awarded a new contract to support ScottishPower’s East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm.
It’s another great example of how the growth of offshore wind can bring real opportunities to local people, while keeping specialist skills and jobs here in our region.
A huge thank you to the team for hosting the visit. I’m looking forward to seeing this success continue and to the opportunities it will bring for Lowestoft, Suffolk, and the wider region.
