Your Labour candidate as MP for Lowestoft.

We are building Britain’s future.

Together, we can win Lowestoft back for Labour.

Hello, I’m Jess Asato

About Me

I have strong family connections to Suffolk - growing up, I lived in Cavenham near Bury and my husband’s family live in nearby Stowmarket. I get the challenges of Lowestoft which has a proud industrial, coastal and agricultural heritage.

I will provide a strong voice in Westminster for constituents who have been battered by the Tories’ austerity and the cost-of-living crisis.

Lowestoft has so much potential - beautiful beaches and broads, one of the largest offshore wind sectors and the world-renowned Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science.

But it has suffered under the Tories with a lack of high quality jobs, poor access to the NHS and dentistry, and a lack of investment in our transport links.

My campaign will reach out to all members of our community, whether in the towns or the villages. I hope you will support me by voting Labour for a better future for Lowestoft.

Together, we can win Lowestoft back for Labour.

My Commitment to You

People in Lowestoft need a local champion who will fight for change in Parliament.

As your Labour candidate and MP, I promise to put the needs of our community first.

  • Campaigning on the Issues that Matter to You

  • Listening to You

  • Being a Full-Time MP

  • Standing Up for the Community

My Priorities

I’m passionate about fighting for the causes I believe in. As your MP, I would be a fierce advocate for change at a local and national level.

  • The cost-of-living crisis has hit people hard in Lowestoft, with half of residents cutting back on food and energy.

Insulating homes, benefit rises in line with inflation, free school meals for more families - in Parliament, I would champion the solutions we need to tackle this crisis both locally and nationally.

  • Patients waiting hours for ambulances to arrive, waiting lists at record highs, people struggling even to see their GP and dentist - the NHS is on its knees, brought down by 13 years of Conservative underinvestment and neglect.

Labour would put patients first, cutting waiting times and tackling the GP and dental crisis by recruiting 7,500 more doctors and 10,000 more nurses paid for by abolishing the non-dom tax status.

  • I want to see investment pouring into Lowestoft, bolstering what we do well, like our thriving port, and improving what we don’t, like our dismal road, local bus and rail links – campaigning for a direct train service to London.

  • In Lowestoft we have the opportunity to create no less than a new green industrial revolution.

With its offshore windfarm expertise and Sizewell C creating new long-term specialist jobs, Lowestoft could play a vital role in the UK achieving net zero.
